Bryan Habif

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

LCSW

Bryan Habif is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 17 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a wide variety of practice settings. He has considerable experience in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. In the spirit of social work, Bryan employs a client-centered, strengths-based counseling approach. Focus is on client empowerment, where the individual is guided to effectively manage problems that were the reason/s for seeking help. Bryan understands that when someone decides to enter counseling, they feel vulnerable; and it’s important to create a therapeutic environment where one feels safe, validated, and supported. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is utilized as a primary approach. Recently, Bryan was certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy and is utilizing this evidence-based model in his practice. “EMDR allows the brain to reprocess instead of dwelling on upsetting memories so that they are less distressing and can reduce symptoms of panic, anxiety, and PTSD.” Bryan is also an adjunct professor teaching at the graduate school of social work at Springfield College.
